80th Anniversairy Manfred Unkel

Manfred Unkel was born on January 13, 1943, in Fürth, Bavaria, where he grew up. After graduating from high school and completing an apprenticeship at Grüner-Bräu, Fürth, he studied for a degree in brewing and beverage technology at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan. He went on to become a brewing manager at the Iserlohn Brewery, a plant inspector at EKU Kulmbach, and then a field service consultant at the Bavarian State Trade Institute's Research Institute for Beer Brewing in Nuremberg. In this capacity, he then already took part in the MEBAK meetings, first as a substitute for Dr. Pöhlmann, then in a leading role after being appointed head of department and brewing director of the Research Institute. The change to Chief Executive Officer at the Association of Medium-Sized Private Breweries in Bavaria in 1996 did not bring any interruption to his involvement in MEBAK, nor did his subsequent work at Malzfabrik Weyermann, Bamberg, as a customer consultant until October 2011. Manfred Unkel was visibly wholehearted in his dedicated involvement in MEBAK.

Popular with all friends and colleagues due to his cheerful, positive nature and professional competence, the good wishes of an entire industry accompany him on his 80th birthday.

MEBAK e.V. wishes Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Unkel all the best for his 80th birthday!
