Dr. Andreas Brandl was unanimously elected as a full member of the Mitteleuropäische Brautechnische Analysenkommission (MEBAK) at the 96th plenary meeting held on March 26th 2021.
Andreas Brandl studied Brewing Science and Beverage Technology from 1996 to 2001 at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan and completed his education with the academic degree of Doktor-Ingenieur in 2006. The topic of his dissertation was “Development and optimization of PCR methods for the detection and identification of brewery-relevant microorganisms for routine brewery application”. The primary objective of his research was to adapt PCR methods for use in breweries to improve their microbiological quality control.
Dr. Andreas Brandl has been with Doemens since 2010. His teaching activities focus on microbiological quality control. From 2013 to 2015, he held the position of Laboratory Director. Since September 2015, he has acted as Deputy Director of Doemens Academy and a member of the board of Doemens e.V.
Dr. Andreas Brandl is active as a member of various examination committees at the IHK, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, for Munich/Upper Bavaria. Since 2019, he has also been chairman of the examination committee for master craftsmen and -women for brewing and malting at the HWK, the Chamber of Trade, for Munich/Upper Bavaria.
