Madeleine Adolf – New Member of MEBAK®

In a vote held at the 91st plenary session of the Central European Commission for Brewing Analysis (MEBAK®) on March 23rd 2018 in Kulmbach, Germany, Madeleine Adolf, certified food chemist, was selected to become a full member of the organization.

Madeleine Adolf was born in 1983 in Wernigerode, Germany. After completing her Abitur (general qualification for university study) in 2003, she studied food chemistry at the Technische Universität Dresden, graduating with a degree in food chemistry in early 2009. Through internships in the industry, she was able to apply her knowledge and skills and also deepen her understanding of the subject matter she had studied in her university courses. Her thesis research involved the analysis of pesticide residues. From 2009 to 2010, Ms. Adolf spent a year applying her knowledge in a practical setting at the Chemische und Veterninäruntersuchungsamt (CVUA, official community reference laboratory for chemical and veterinary analysis) in Freiburg. Ms. Adolf used her time at the EU reference laboratory for dioxins and PCB, which is located at the CVUA in Freiburg, to gain further expertise in the field. There, she was able to explore and become familiar with special topics and legal aspects associated with her profession as she prepared for her state exams. Afterwards, she successfully completed them to become a state-certified food chemist.

Since 2010, Ms. Adolf has worked for Radeberger Gruppe KG in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, as a member of the company’s Quality Group. In this role, she revamped the risk-oriented testing of hazardous materials, has continued to further the development of analysis methods and serves as the primary contact for questions concerning legal issues and declarations as they apply to foods. In 2012, she also took over the direction of the central laboratory at Radeberger, which is responsible for company-wide testing, particularly in the area of raw materials and special analysis.

In 2016, Ms. Adolf assumed the position of director of the Quality Group at the Radeberger Gruppe KG. She is the expert liaison for quality assurance directors at the various production facilities operated by the company. Ms. Adolf works together with this team of directors to develop quality assurance standards for all entities within the Radeberger Gruppe KG. Ms. Adolf leads the team responsible for centralized, internal services at the company, e.g. analysis at the central laboratory and administration of the laboratory data system. In addition, Ms. Adolf assists the purchasing department with the selection of suppliers and raw materials along with heading the crisis team for the group.

The members of MEBAK® are very pleased to welcome Ms. Adolf to the analysis commission.
